Rococo (/rkoko/ or /rokko/), less commonly roccoco, or "Late Baroque", was a very ornamental and theatrical style of gilding which combined asymmetry, scrolling curves, gilding, white and pastel colors, sculpted molding, and trompe l'oeil frescoes to create the illusions of surprise, occupation and drama.
